Tombol ini mematikan semua sumber daya secara aman, termasuk <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxid.net\/istilah\/uninterruptible-power-supply\/\">uninterruptible power supply (UPS)<\/a>, baterai, dan generator dari satu lokasi pusat.<br \/>\nTombol EPO sering ditemukan di pabrik, fasilitas telekomunikasi, dan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxid.net\/istilah\/data-center\/\">data center<\/a>. Tujuan utama pemadaman listrik secara terpusat ini adalah untuk mengurangi kerusakan dalam situasi darurat dan memastikan keselamatan tim penyelamat. Tiga tahun kemudian, National Fire Protection Association merilis standar pertama untuk Perlindungan Sistem Komputer Elektronik, yang kemudian dikenal sebagai NFPA 75.
