Dalam rumus listrik, resistance dilambangkan dengan huruf R. Satuan standar untuk resistance adalah <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxid.net\/istilah\/ohm\/\">ohm<\/a>, yang kadang ditulis sebagai kata, kadang juga disimbolkan dengan huruf Yunani besar \u03a9.<\/p>\n<h2>Bagaimana Cara Kerja Resistance?<\/h2>\n<p>Kalau ada arus listrik sebesar satu <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxid.net\/istilah\/ampere\/\">ampere<\/a> yang mengalir melalui suatu komponen, dan tegangan yang bekerja pada komponen itu satu volt, maka resistansi komponen tersebut adalah satu ohm. (Untuk lebih detail soal hubungan antara arus, resistance, dan tegangan, cek <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxid.net\/istilah\/Ohms-Law\/\">Hukum Ohm<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Secara umum, kalau tegangan dijaga tetap, arus listrik dalam rangkaian arus searah (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxid.net\/istilah\/DC-direct-current\/\">DC<\/a>) akan berbanding terbalik dengan resistance.<\/p>\n<p>Kalau resistance-nya naik dua kali lipat, arusnya jadi setengahnya.<br \/>\nKalau resistance-nya turun setengahnya, arusnya jadi dua kali lebih besar.<br \/>\nAturan ini juga berlaku buat sebagian besar sistem arus bolak-balik (AC) frekuensi rendah, seperti listrik rumah tangga. Tapi kalau masuk ke frekuensi tinggi, perhitungannya jadi lebih rumit karena beberapa komponen bisa menyimpan dan melepaskan energi, selain hanya meredam atau mengubahnya.<\/p>\n<h2>Apa Itu Resistivity dan Reactance?<\/h2>\n<p>Resistivity adalah ukuran resistansi per satuan panjang, luas, atau volume suatu bahan. Biasanya, resistivity sering dihitung untuk kabel tembaga dan aluminium, dalam satuan ohm per kilometer.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxid.net\/istilah\/reactance\/\">Reactance<\/a> adalah hambatan terhadap arus bolak-balik (AC), tapi tidak berlaku untuk arus searah (DC).<br \/>\nDalam rangkaian AC, resistance dan reactance akan berpadu secara vektor membentuk <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxid.net\/istilah\/impedance\/\">impedance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Resistance vs Conductance<\/h2>\n<p>Resistance adalah hambatan terhadap arus listrik, sedangkan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxid.net\/istilah\/conductance\/\">conductance<\/a> adalah ukuran seberapa mudah arus listrik bisa mengalir dalam suatu bahan.
