Voltage biasanya disimbolkan dengan huruf miring kapital <em>V<\/em> atau <em>E<\/em>. Satuan standarnya adalah volt, yang ditulis dengan huruf kapital biasa: V. Jumlah perubahan arah per detik disebut frekuensi, yang diukur dalam satuan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxid.net\/istilah\/hertz\/\">hertz<\/a> (Hz), kilohertz (kHz), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxid.net\/istilah\/megahertz\/\">megahertz<\/a> (MHz), gigahertz (GHz), atau bahkan terahertz (THz).
